BlogHVAC NewsAugust 13, 2019New DOE standards help save energy and reduce pollution

The Department of Energy has announced new standards for residential gas furnaces and packaged HVAC units.

The new Fan Energy Rating (FER) standards look to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the fan that circulates the air through your home. FER follows previous DOE standards for HVAC systems like SEER for air conditioners, AFUE for furnaces, and HSPF for heat pumps.

Don’t worry about the alphabet soup of these DOE standards. As a proud Trane HVAC partner, we have the knowledge and experience to ensure your new residential system meets all of the DOE and local standards.

Trane is an industry leader in HVAC efficiency and reliability, with FER-compliant furnaces using 46% less power to run than a standard furnace blower. Less power = lower utility bills!
